Day 6: St. Louis, MO to Sullivan, MO
St. Louis Arch
We started off the day's journey by visiting the St. Louis Arch, which is really the Monument to Westward Expansion. The view from the arch is amazing, and the museum is fascinating. Sadly, Susan talked me out of buying the $22.00 video on the building of the arch.
Meramec Caverns
Words cannot completely describe the wonder of the Meramec Caverns. While the "Jesse James' Hideout" malarkey and the "Lassie" was filmed here are appropriately tacky for a Route 66 attraction, the natural caverns themselves are simply breathtaking. Definitely cool.
